Technician / service app

Customers ask "where is the technician?" You should know before they call.

E-Tracker shows your coordinators where every technician is during their shift, records each customer visit with check-in and check-out, and handles attendance and travel expenses — all in one app the technician already uses.

What slows down field service teams

Service businesses run on coordination. A complaint comes in, someone calls around to find a free technician, details go out on WhatsApp, and the technician calls the customer for directions. Afterwards, nobody is quite sure when they arrived, how long the job took, or whether they went to the next site or home.

The result is lost visibility: coordinators cannot tell who is nearest, customers chase the office for updates, and travel claims at month end are impossible to check. Technicians also juggle separate apps — or paper — for attendance, expenses and messages.

A technician app should make the day visible without adding paperwork: where everyone is, which sites they visited and when, and one place for attendance, expenses and team communication.

What to look for in a field technician app

  1. Location-aware dispatch. Coordinators should see technicians on a map before deciding who goes to a new complaint.
  2. Visit records per customer. Every site visit with arrival and departure times, and notes for the next technician.
  3. Planned routes. A daily route of customer sites gives technicians a clear start and gives you a baseline.
  4. Easy expense claims. Bill scanning and allowance rules make claims fast for technicians and easy to approve.
  5. Built-in team chat. Coordination should not depend on a separate WhatsApp group.

Features

How E-Tracker solves it

01

See the nearest technician

The team map shows every technician on shift, refreshed every 30 seconds, so coordinators can see who is closest to a new complaint. Each technician's trail for the day can be replayed.

02

Site visits with check-in, check-out and notes

Technicians check in at a customer site, log what was done and check out. Visit history by customer shows every past visit and what the last technician noted.

03

Route plans for the day

Plan each technician's route of customer sites so the day starts with a clear list, and compare it with the actual trail.

04

Expenses with bill scanning

Technicians claim travel and parts expenses against a tour or on their own; the claim fills itself in from a photo of the bill, and allowance rates and limits keep it within policy.

Case study · HVAC service company

Illustrative scenario

Coordinators who can see the whole team

An HVAC service company with 28 technicians dispatched by phone and reconciled travel claims from memory at month end. With the team map and site visit logs in E-Tracker, coordinators send the nearest technician, customers get accurate arrival estimates, and expense claims are checked against the day's actual trail.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does E-Tracker include job tickets or work orders?

Not today. E-Tracker focuses on technician attendance, location, routes, site visits and expenses. Many teams record job details in the visit log and custom fields.

Can technicians mark attendance at the first customer site?

Yes. Punch-in takes a selfie and location wherever the technician is; geofences apply to offices you define.

Can the team message each other in the app?

Yes. Team chat supports direct messages, teams and channels, threads and @mentions, so coordinators and technicians do not need a separate WhatsApp group.

Does it work for solar O&M teams?

Yes for tracking and visits. For solar EPCs we also offer SolarEPCFlow, which handles O&M tickets tied to the original project.

How is it priced?

Essential plan (₹29 per employee) plus the Field Tracking add-on (₹99 per field user) per month.
