Attendance + payroll app

Two systems, one month-end argument. Put attendance and payroll in one app.

When attendance lives in one tool and payroll in another, someone has to copy numbers between them — and that is where mistakes happen. E-Tracker keeps punches, leave, approvals and salaries on a single employee record.

Employee marking attendance at the office with verified location, and the admin view of today's attendance

The month-end gap between attendance and salary

The typical flow in a growing company: a biometric or app export for attendance, an email trail for leave approvals, a WhatsApp message about a missed punch, and a payroll workbook that someone updates by hand on the 30th. Each handoff is a chance for a missed half-day or a double-counted leave.

Employees feel the result. Salary short by two days? They raise a query, HR digs through three sources, finance runs a correction next month. Multiply that by every department and you have a recurring trust problem that has nothing to do with how much you pay.

An attendance and payroll app removes the gap. Approvals happen during the month, the period is locked when payroll runs, and employees see the same records HR uses.

What to look for in an attendance and payroll app

  1. One employee record. Attendance, leave and salary should live on the same employee record, not be synced between two systems.
  2. Approvals as they happen. Leave, WFH and regularization approvals should happen during the month, so the 30th is a review, not a scramble.
  3. Delegation. Approvals should not stop when a manager is on leave.
  4. Transparent to employees. Employees should see their own attendance, leave balance, payslips and tax in the app.
  5. Room to start small. You should be able to start with attendance alone and switch on payroll later without migrating data.

Features

How E-Tracker solves it

01

One record from punch to payslip

Selfie punches, shifts, leave, WFH and regularizations sit on the same employee record that payroll uses. Lock the payroll period once salaries are processed so nothing shifts underneath them.

02

One inbox for every approval

Managers approve leave, WFH, regularizations and expenses from a single inbox, with a home-screen banner for anything pending. Delegate approvals to a colleague when you are away.

03

Employee self-service on the phone

Employees see their attendance, leave balance and comp-off, payslips, year-to-date earnings, tax computation and Form 16. Most "why was my salary cut?" questions are answered before they are asked.

04

Payroll with statutory deductions

Process, review and finalise monthly payroll with PF, ESI, PT and LWF from your statutory setup, one-off inputs, and loans and advances recovered automatically.

How it works

  1. 1

    Set policies once

Shifts, leave types and rules, holiday calendars, approval policies and salary structures.

  2. 2

Run the month in the app

Employees punch, apply and get approvals on their phones. Managers clear their inbox daily, not on the 30th.

  3. 3

    Lock and process

Lock the period, run payroll, review and finalise. Payslips appear in the app.

Case study · Retail chain

Illustrative scenario

Eight stores, one payroll, zero copy-paste

A retail chain with eight stores and 95 staff had store managers sending attendance sheets to head office every month-end. With in-store selfie punches and leave approved by store managers in the app, head office now runs payroll on the same records. Salary queries fell noticeably once staff could see their own attendance and payslips.
